It's been forty years.
Forty years since I haven’t had a job. Forty years since I started at one company and continued working there for my whole career. Yes, people retire all the time - nothing special there. But it’s my first time - and will be my only time. I’m excited and looking forward to it.
The plan is to sort of prepare the house in Maryland for our departure (our son will be staying and living in the house) and head to the house we built on the gulf coast in Florida. How long we stay there will be up to us, as I no longer need to keep an eye on vacation hours or work schedules. There, I plan on driving the “Z” and riding the Harley over the winter. They’ve been sitting in the garage since I was last there in May.
We will be departing soon - plans are made and we are ready.
And the 'Z’ waits...
